Our cowherd has been carefully selected and evaluated for many years on real world traits. Docility, structural soundness including good feet with lots of heel, and udders with optimum teat size and wide udder attachments all are traits we have bred into our cattle. We select females with smart heads, angular front ends and excellent maternal traits. Our cowherd is maintained on a total forage ration. We do not grain our cows, even at breeding time, or creep our calves. The females that cannot calve every 365 days and bring in a calf in this program are not retained in our breeding herd.
